Timbre’s vision is to change the games industry through the original games we make, as well as how we make them. As a Senior VFX Artist at Timbre, you will impact the team by creating playful, exciting, and stylized gameplay effects for our first major project. Your natural curiosity will help to solve our more challenging VFX problems and you’ll own features from start to end on a variety of different effects, bringing fun to a high quality, stylized game!

Ultimately, you believe the best ideas don’t belong to one person, and that a team that works together is more powerful than any one person’s idea alone. This people-first, collaborative and agile approach to development will support driving the team forward and help artists on the team grow, regardless of their level of experience. You’ll partner closely with our Lead VFX Artist and Art Director, establishing pipelines and developing tools that will empower not only the VFX team, but the studio at large!

As a Senior VFX Artist at Timbre, you will:

• 
  Partner with the Lead VFX Artist on establishing the style of VFX that Timbre will be known for
• Help drive the VFX for our first project, owning some of our most interesting and visually exciting effects in our game
• Prototype VFX which effectively develop tone, pacing and compelling moments of gameplay events
• Author particle effects and shaders in Unreal Engine 5, ensuring they’re performant and optimized for PC/Console
• Collaborate with developers and designers from other departments (such as core gameplay, animation, and lighting) to create effects that support and enhance player experience
• Alongside our growing VFX team, steer our VFX workflows and pipelines in partnership with the Animation, Game Design and Tech Art teams to raise the quality bar for VFX
• Shape the dynamic and the future of the VFX department, by fostering an inclusive, empowering approach to building the team

What you bring:

• A demo-reel that highlights a diverse range of VFX work, with a preference for stylized content
• Considerable experience as a VFX Artist, crafting effects through pre-production, production, and finalling on a shipped PC or console game
• Expertise in Unreal and Niagara/Cascade. Coding/scripting knowledge and experience with Houdini, Embergen, Photoshop, or After Effects is a bonus
• As a Visionary Explorer, you bring a deep curiosity and experimentation for the latest tools and technologies, tinkering with magical VFX that push the visual boundaries of your work
• As a Creator of Clarity, you are experienced in delivering clear, concise messages that are easily understood by all disciplines
