About The Role

We’re looking for a Senior Specialist, to join our Corporate Specialty Solutions team!

As a Senior Specialist, in our Fidelity, FIB, D&O, E&O Corporate team, your work will have a big impact in servicing, mentoring, auditing, building guidelines and assisting in strategic product development. You will support our distribution channel nationally across Central Atlantic (CAR), Quebec and Western regions . People will count on you to provide technical guidance to ensure consistent application of corporate underwriting guidelines while achieving profitable growth objectives.

This role can be based in any Intact office location.

What You’ll Do Here
  • Develop and support the strategic product development plan and work with stake holders to achieve growth targets.
  • Manage product improvements and implementation.
  • Lead the design and development of specialty products and strategic product positioning.
  • Develop guidelines, authority statements and manage referral process to support performance and underwriting.
  • Gather market intelligence and compare Intact’s product offering to the competition.
  • Research and help implement technology-based solutions for pricing, underwriting & risk
  • Collaborate with internal teams to explore new growth and profitability opportunities through technical research and relationship building.
  • Conduct governance best practices through volume analysis and performing audits.
  • Communicate changes related to product pricing, underwriting guidelines and new products.
  • Provide underwriting training, lending expertise to mentor colleagues and distribution underwriters.
Qualifications

What you bring to the table:
  • Minimum 5 years of underwriting experience in Fidelity/FIB, D&O, E & O insurance
  • Highly organized, with the ability to work towards goals while adapting to change in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to read and analyse financial statements
  • Strong communication skills because you understand the importance of building relationships by tailoring your approach, including the ability to persuade as well as challenge others
  • Ability to deal effectively and respectfully with individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Team player with the ability to work effectively
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and in collaboration with national departmental teams
  • Effective analytical, negotiating and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work well under tight deadlines, including organizational and time management skills
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality and accountability
  • Digital and Data Acumen, understanding how these two items can support and facilitate the Customer and Underwriters experience
  • University degree/college diploma preferred
  • Professional Insurance designation ( CIP/FCIP, RPLU, CRM) or progress towards such designation is an asset
  • Bilingual in French and English an asset
  • Willing to travel on occasion
