As a member of our Industrial group, you will provide insight and innovative construction solutions to ensure the successful execution of various industrial projects for the resource sector – oil (including refining and upgrading), oil sands, natural gas, petrochemicals, power generation, mining and forestry, potash, uranium and other resources. As a member of our Industrial group, you will also ensure the highest safety and environmental standards are upheld.

The Senior Operations Accountant reports directly to Regional Operations Controller and will be responsible for leading all aspects of accounting and financial support across a portfolio of projects for a business unit. Responsible for leading a team of accountants and clerks while implementing and maintaining project accounting processes, in accordance with company policies and procedures, to ensure clear, accurate, consistent and relevant project and business unit financial information and analysis. Acts as a business partner and key contributor with the senior leaders of the business unit and a representative of the finance function.

As a Senior Operations Accountant at Graham you will:
Provides leadership and supervision to staff; responsible for providing feedback, orientation, training, coaching and scheduling.
Responsible for the business unit’s general transactional accounting processes, reconciliations, and month-end procedures, and ensures compliance with deadlines.
Ensure adherence to government, provincial/state regulations, and taxes to ensure compliance at the project level and branch/business unit level and consults with tax department as required.
Responsible for compliance with documented accounting processes and involved in identifying, developing, and implementing improvements.
Consolidates and analyzes cashflow forecasts; responsible for AR reports and collections.
Leads the deliverables for audit work requirements (external & client) in the business unit.
Leads the financial support of operations in regular monthly branch/business unit reviews, ensuring accurate and complete forecasts for accurate financial statements.
Deliver consistent, accurate, relevant, and timely management reporting for operations.

To be successful at Graham, you will have the following qualifications and experience:
Degree in Commerce/Business/Accounting or a related field.
Professional Accounting Designation (CPA) is preferred.
7 - 10 years relevant accounting experience.
2+ years’ experience of managing finance teams.
Experience in Construction, Engineering or Heavy Manufacturing Industries.
Advanced job costing knowledge
Proficiency in ERP systems and system controls, SAP preferred.
