Position Overview
The role of the Senior Content Specialist is to conceptualize, lead, and create high-end content for mid-scale projects that are brought to the national MediaLab department. This includes the coordination, team leadership and design of multiple content projects on a daily basis while abiding by and setting department procedures, deadlines, and workflow. The SCS reports to the Senior Manager, MediaLab.
Key Job Responsibilities
Local MediaLab
- Lead assigned video production and content projects for external clients and internally for Sales & Marketing
- Onsite MediaLab representative to capture video of live events for internal company exposure and external exposure to clients
- Manage project time and daily workload efficiently
- Liaise with Account Managers on assigned MediaLab projects concerning:
- Media requirements
- Recommendations concerning effective content
- Timelines and dates, assist in preparing quotes when required
- Feedback on draft media concepts
- Assist in client relations and attend client meetings as required to discuss creative concepts & experiential solutions
- Follow standards for workflow, approvals, content delivery, and best practices
- Maintain ongoing communication on project updates, schedules, and workloads with MediaLab leadership and/or Creative Producer
- Liaise with Production and Operations to ensure content is deliverable using the technology assigned to the project
- Listen to the client to understand their needs before making design decisions
- Quality control of content production
- Monitor hardware and software in the local MediaLab and report any issues to the department leadership
- Ongoing training to learn new software and techniques to increase skillset and provide new service offerings
National MediaLab
- Working with national heads of MediaLab leadership to develop Creative & Technical processes and conceptual development on events, video production, experience design, solutions, and tradeshow activations
- Provide ongoing training and support to other members of the MediaLab team
- Lead assigned projects, staying accountable to hour budgets and set timelines
- Assist on project collaboration at a national level
- Work closely with MediaLab leadership to drive innovative ideas
- Monitor and analyze trends in the industry to make recommendations for the future of the department
- Keep abreast of emerging technologies in new media
Creative
- Think creatively to produce new ideas and concepts
- Lead/produce/direct video shoots and graphic production across the country for internal and external projects
- Perform high-end video shoots, video editing & content creation
Marketing & Sales
- Oversee and guide the development of presentation materials
- Contribute creative ideas/concepts for marketing media and materials, assist in its creation
- Work with sales staff to support proposals eg. Presentations, Renderings, mock-ups, example animations as required
Maintenance
- Maintain project library, including ensuring all media content is securely stored and manage archiving of data
- Liaise with the MediaLab leadership to ensure proper protocols and hardware are in place to accommodate graphic needs (systems, storage, connectivity, file movement, backups, etc.)
Job Qualifications
- Degree, diploma or equivalent combination of education & experience– Art, Design, Graphics, Multimedia; or related field
- Professional proficiency in industry standard design tools including Adobe Creative Suite & Maxon Cinema 4D
- Very strong video production skills, including camera, direction, lighting & audio
- Design background and experience where aesthetics is important
- 4+ years related experience, in a broadcast and/or media production setting
- Visual and conceptual design and color theory experience
- Excellent communication skills
- Knowledgeable of traditional design processes related to production deliverables
- Proficient in MS Office, on both Mac and PC platforms
- Ability to travel for client meetings and events where required

Work Environment
Work is generally performed at an office that is moderately quiet. Team members will occasionally visit other work locations for meetings or for other business reasons. Working times will include days and may include evenings, weekends and holidays. Team members must adhere to appearance guidelines as defined by Encore. Estimated travel between 25% - 50%.
