Senior Investment Research Analyst

  • Be a part of Mercer’s manager research boutique, directly contributing to and supporting our global institutional client base with assets in excess of $10 Trillion.
  • Sourcing and evaluating a wide variety of asset managers and innovative opportunities for inclusion in client portfolios and Mercer internal solutions.

  • Directly impacting capital allocation and client investment outcomes to better deliver on portfolio needs.
  • Combining qualitative and quantitative inputs and research in preparation and maintenance of research reports on asset managers.
  • Take a role in the manager research meeting and agenda setting processes.
  • Gather and collate data from a variety of sources to meet the specific information needs of consultants.

We will count on you to:

  • Assist manager researchers in gathering and connecting information in order to identify and communicate asset managers that Mercer believes are most likely able to generate value for our clients.
  • Provide research and due diligence support on a wide variety of investment strategies, markets and managers.
  • Provide support to the research team in meeting the needs of clients – including analytics, strategic research, etc.
  • Attend manager research meetings and/or external conferences, in a support capacity, to help develop technical knowledge and personal career.
  • Conduct quantitative research by developing and maintaining relevant data, charts, summary views, and detailed research in support of our research ratings across various research documents.
  • Contribute to post meeting discussions covering key issues and recommend manager ratings.
  • Provide ad hoc support to consultants in preparing for internal and external research meetings.
  • Assist in the preparation for direct client discussions on managers/strategies.
  • Work on asset class or strategy specific research projects and intellectual capital

What you need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Interest or passion for investing, learning and challenge
  • Solid communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Demonstrated analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Attention to detail, ability to multi-task, manage multiple priorities and work in a rapidly changing environment

What makes you stand out?

  • 0-2 years of relevant experience strongly preferred
  • Interest in pursuing CFA designation
