Major Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reconciliations on behalf of three associated charitable entries
• Provide supporting documents and working papers to support financial statements
• Prepare internal financial statements to report on actual results compared to budget
• Prepare financial analysis of operational results including analysing variances to budgets, and related reporting
• Gather and maintain operational statistics
• Assist in Capital Project Accounting and program billings
• Fulfil scheduled and on demand reporting to the MOHLTC, MOH, Ontario Health, HCCSS and other external stakeholders
• Support the preparation of the annual budget
• Prepare and maintain government tax reporting primarily HST
• Other duties, as assigned by CFO

Qualifications for this position include, but are not limited to,

• University degree or post-secondary education in business or accounting
• CPA or finalist
• 2-5 years’ relevant experience working in the long-term care or health care industry
• Not for Profit experience is a definite asset
• Experience with Point Click Care is an asset
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong financial and business acumen
• Detailed analysis, interpretation and comprehension of complex business and accounting rules
• Proven ability to set priorities, manage tasks, and achieve goals
• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
• Superior Microsoft Word and Excel skills
• Current Vulnerable Position/Sector Screening (VPS)
