SENIOR ENGINEERING SPECIALIST – ENERGY INNOVATION (LEDUC)

In this salaried position, the successful candidate is responsible for designing, developing, or evaluating energy-related technologies, projects, or programs to reduce energy costs, reduce emissions, and/or improve energy efficiency. The position is also responsible for investigating and recommending alternative energy models and technologies to increase energy efficiency at Apex Utilities Inc., in our distribution system, and in customer owned facilities. The role is responsible for liaising with internal and external parties on technical and commercial aspects of alternative energy; integrating alternative energy solutions and resolving/investigating operating issues; performing other duties as applicable.

Qualifications include:

• University degree in Engineering or equivalent;
• Professional Engineer designation and a member in good standing with APEGA;
• Greater than five (5) years related experience;
• Advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite;
• Intermediate knowledge in software programs including but not limited to GIS, Abadata and AutoDesk Engineering Design;
• Technical understanding of natural gas distribution business and
• Technical, financial and practical knowledge and experience of the alternative energy industry.
