This is a remote position open to candidates located in Vancouver or Montreal.

This role is responsible for preparation of monthly financial reporting to the senior executive and provides audit and filing support for a publicly traded company, listed on the CSE and OTCQX, operating within the cannabis industry. Core responsibilities involve a focus on managing inventory costing and reviewing related modules in ERP system.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

ONE (50%)

- Responsible for all areas of Inventory costing Including labour, material, machine and overhead cost analysis Including:

o Determining costs of raw material purchases, supplies and labour;

o Analyzing manufacturing costs to determine appropriate overhead rates;

o Reconcile monthly accounts to ensure inventory, cost of goods is accurate;

o Preparation of monthly inventory and costing reports to management including margin analysis

by product line;

o Maintain and review inputs into Sage cost accounting modules, and

o Work with operations team to ensure reliable costing of new products being developed

- Assist in the compilation of information for external auditors on a quarterly basis
- Assist in month-end inventory count, analyze and reconcile quantity variance
- Maintain select general ledger accounts by reconciling accounts details and control account, and preparing monthly working papers
- Support the Sage X3 application, financial, subcontractor modules and inventory management modules
- Work closely with FP&A team to maintain standard costing for biological assets, existing products and packaging
- Prepare monthly medical inventory – costing and sales workbook and record associated journal entries
- Prepare excise duty calculation and B300 monthly return
- Prepare medical, rec, and offsite inventory related journal entries and reconcile sales clearing and deferred revenue accounts

TWO (25%)

- Review and reconcile monthly intercompany balance accounts including intersite Inventory transfer, intercompany sales, purchases Invoices and loan balance
- Maintain and update intangible asset workbook
- Record Interests on Intercompany loan and record elimination journal entries
- Reconcile related party transactions

THREE(25%)

- Corporate credit card management including:

o Assist in corporate credit cards reports and obtain expenses supports from card holders

o Record credit card expense reports journal entries

o General administrative management on BMO Spend Dynamic website

- Assist in Research & Experimental Development (SR&ED) application, and tax filing

KNOWLEDGE / SKILL REQUIREMENTS

- Broad understanding of cost accounting
- Knowledge of consolidation and intercompany transactions
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
