We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Conveyance Project Manager based to work on exciting and engaging large-scale infrastructure projects. In this role you will have the chance to manage linear infrastructure projects, watermain, sewer, distribution networks, tunnels, rehabilitation projects of varying size and complexity. Working with other members of the team, you will act as one of the company’s prime contacts with the client and are responsible for the management of quality, budget, scope and schedule as well as technical performance on the project, work closely with the business group project delivery leadership or other senior project manager /operations leaders who provide oversight and mentoring.

During your time with us, you will lead and manage the project team through all phases of project planning, execution, and closeout, consistent with established project delivery processes to meet the scope, schedule, budget and other specified requirements stated in the contract, act as a technical resource for a variety of water sanitary and storm water systems, as well as actively involved in business development activities leading to the award of contract, which includes client relationship development, project-specific positioning activities, proposal preparation, oral presentation, and contract negotiation consistent with established business development processes.

You will be working mainly from home (unless you prefer coming into one of our offices), with the expectation to travel for client /site meetings and occasional team meetings.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or applicable discipline and/or equivalent experience)
  • P.Eng. designation in Ontario or eligibility to receive it within 12 months
  • Minimum 15 years’ experience, with at least 10 years in an engineering consulting environment
  • Previous demonstrated experience managing municipal conveyance projects
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:
  • Strong theoretical knowledge and experience in sewer (combined, wastewater, and/or storm applications) and watermain design, hydraulic design, design of hydraulic and flow control structures
  • Significant experience in planning, risk management, schedule development and control, work monitoring and cost control of design and construction projects
  • Significant experience in preliminary design, detailed design and contract administration /construction management of municipal conveyance projects using open cut and trenchless construction techniques
  • Significant experience of local, provincial and federal regulatory permits and approval requirements associated with municipal conveyance projects
  • Significant experience in obtaining permits, approvals and easements for municipal conveyance projects including storm water management facilities, trunk sewers and feedermains
  • Significant experience with property requirements, utility and agency coordination for municipal conveyance projects
  • Familiarity with specialty hydraulics including computational fluid dynamics, air movement in sewers, complex inflow, drop structure and transient analysis construction methods
  • Proven experience leading and managing project teams on consulting projects
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent report writing skills
  • Completion of formal PM training in an accredited program that aligns with the requirements of Certified Project Management bodies (e.g. PMI), would be an asset
