Your Role

Let’s talk about how your skills, experience, goals, and passions can find a home at JLR. Working closely with our project managers and design teams to ensure successful execution of projects for our multidisciplinary clients, you will:

  • Provide full-time on-site project check-ins to determine proper adherence to contract documents;
  • Interpret requirements and details of contract drawings and specifications;
  • Verify quantities, prepare daily progress reports, and maintain written and photographic documentation and records;
  • Participate in construction progress meetings;
  • Liaise with contractors, field staff, owners, members of the public and other stakeholders;
  • Identify and act on contractual or regulatory infractions;
  • Ensure compliance with contract standards / specifications;
  • Resolve construction issues with the assistance of the Contract Administrator and Project Manager; and
  • Other contract administration duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • RCJI designation required. RCSI and / or RCCA designation(s) would be considered an asset;
  • Civil or Construction Engineering Technology / Technician diploma would be considered an asset OACETT designation preferred or eligibility for designation as a C.E.T. or C.Tech;
  • Relevant experience in construction and inspection activities;
  • Comprehensive knowledge of standard engineering and construction principles, practices, and techniques;
  • Comprehensive knowledge of construction inspection and management principles, practices, and techniques;
  • Comprehensive knowledge of construction products, materials, and equipment;
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and regulations for construction projects;
  • Knowledge of Ontario Provincial Standard Specifications;
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications;
  • Experience in construction inspection ensuring contractor’s compliance with the requirements of the contract documents and specifications;
  • Excellent communication skills, including written, and verbal;
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational, administrative, observational, and problem-solving skills;
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) is required;
  • AutoCAD experience would be considered an asset;
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, both independently and in a team environment; and
  • Valid Class G driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.
