The opportunity

The Senior Broker Support Officer provides support to the Broker Support team to assist with the ongoing delivery of high-quality services to our Broker Network. Responsible for resolving complex Broker Network (client) requests and the administering and processing of related transactions fostering an unrivalled client experience in alignment with CWB’s brand promise. The Sr. Broker Support Officer will also provide direct support in performing due diligence for more complex transactions and escalations as required.

Key deliverables

Processing, reviewing, and authorizing.

Process, review, verify & authorize GL reconciliations, CAFT payments processed, nominee estates, re-registrations, and redemptions. As a more senior member, provide second-line peer review on workflow and transactions of Broker Support Officers. Complete assigned tasks within SLA targets while minimizing risk by adhering to all policies, procedures and regulatory requirements and maintaining appropriate documentation & data integrity. Actively participate as a subject matter expert and contributor in initiatives and projects inclusive to Broker Support and Centralized Operations.

Problem solving

Whether independently or in a team, proactively problem solve, solution, make recommendations and if required, decisions to resolve complex requests, outstanding issues, or escalated concerns. Deploy this strategic thinking to identify procedural enhancements and best practices at every opportunity utilizing a client-centric approach.

Coaching & training.

As a more senior member on the team, provide support and training to Broker Support Officers with hands-on training, broker transactions, and implementation and use of technical tools. Identifying opportunities to coach and provide feedback with intention. Provide input to manager regarding employee performance to assist with team engagement, developmental coaching conversations, and performance reviews as required.

Core knowledge requirements

  • Post secondary education in Business, Finance, Business Administration, or related field would be an asset! At a minimum, you must have a growth mindset, an openness to learning, and can demonstrate your capacity to do so.

Demonstrated experience

  • Two years of experience, preferably in operations within banking or a centralized support centre – other financial experience would be considered an asset.

  • Working knowledge of basic accounting principals such as debits / credits and reconciliations is required.

  • Intermediate skills and experience with Microsoft Office applications, specifically Word, Excel and Teams
