  • Work with a team of restructuring professionals including chartered insolvency and restructuring professionals, corporate finance experts, chartered business valuators, chartered professional accountants and other professional advisers who are committed to and understand entrepreneurial people and organizations
  • Work collaboratively with other external service providers including lawyers, bankers, appraisers, and property managers

As a Senior Associate, Restructuring your responsibilities will include:
  • Assistance with the preparation of valuations of assets and business interests for a wide range of purposes, such as: sales processes, refinancing, settlement, operational restructuring, financial restructuring, etc.
  • Assistance with the preparation of complex financial models for the purpose of sourcing and obtaining financing opportunities for all aspects of business operations
  • Assistance in the preparation of confidential information memorandums and other transaction related documentation including buyers lists, confidentiality agreements and compiling and managing electronic data rooms
  • Support and assistance with various projects including the collection and integration of research information
  • Assistance with qualitative and quantitative analyses to develop and validate recommendation and offers/counter offers
  • Support and assistance as part of a team assisting clients with aspects of supporting the formal and informal restructuring and liquidation processes
  • Liaise with lenders, creditors, debtors, lawyers and other professionals
  • Assist with identifying issues and recommending solutions
  • Participation in various business development initiatives (internal and external) including research in support of pitches, proposals and new client prospects as well as attendance at various business development events

Think you’ve got what it takes to be a Senior Associate, Restructuring? Like the colour purple? Great. Here’s a few more boxes we’re also hoping you can tick:
  • Post-secondary education in a business related field (degree, diploma or certificate)
  • Professional accounting designation is considered an asset (i.e. CPA)
  • Previous accounting, corporate finance and/or banking experience
  • Currently enrolled or has an interest to pursue a secondary professional designation (example: CIRP, LIT)
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and work under pressure with various teams and a variable work load
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to work with and develop mid-level to complex financial models and the ability to analyze and manipulate large volumes of data to gain key insights.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word and Outlook
  • Strong online research database skills
  • Strong commitment to excellence and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A client-focused approach to work
  • Ability to generate creative solutions to abstract or undefined problems
  • Proficiency and comfort with financial statement concepts and a demonstrated ability for financial analysis
  • Prior exposure to corporate finance and/or project management considered an asset, but not required
  • Demonstrated interest all aspects of business and the Canadian business landscape
