How your role will add to the story:

We are looking for a Senior Accountant, Wholesale & Corporate. You will be expected to assist your leaders and peers effectively and efficiently execute on day-to-day, monthly and year end general accounting activities. You will also be required to ensure the internal controls adequately contribute to financial reporting objectives and meet the annual certification requirements. You will report directly to Controller, Corporate Accounting, and will also have the opportunity to work with the National Sales & Distribution teams, Auditors, Tax consultants etc.

A day in the life:

• On most days you will support the financial reporting process by assisting in the preparation of analysis and review of financial statements of business units
• You will coordinate and be responsible for month end procedures according with IFRS including: Journal entry preparation, review, support and submission to offshore transactional accounting processing team for various month entry journal entries including, for example: dealer holdbacks, vehicle margin program, wholesale gross profit elimination included in retail inventory, import duty variance, demo car tax and discount etc.
• Some days you will review and reconcile inventory balances and new vehicle inventory aging. You will follow up meeting with Logistics and demo Vehicles managers to take the corresponding actions to maintain a healthy inventory.
• You will coordinate and prepare annual corporate internal audit and external auditors working papers as requested.
• You will understand developments in assigned wholesale departments and ensure that they understand their financial results, the impact of their decisions or options and that the financials are accurately reflecting the reality
• There is always a chance you will be involved in lead special projects looking for the automation of executive report in Power BI and efficiencies in the different systems.

Mercedes-Benz Fan skills, requirements & traits:

• University Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
• 5+ years of accounting experience
• CPA certification designation
• Knowledge in IFRS accounting, business processes and internal control
• Advanced skill in using Microsoft Excel.
• Problem solving skills and communication skills
• Ability to manage and complete special projects independently as well as with a group
• Team player, promote team effectiveness and contribute to a positive work environment
• Bold, innovative and enjoy challenging yourself
• Honest and professional, a strong team player
• Big picture thinker, go-getter, self-starter
