Job Summary

AECOM is hiring Scaffolder Journeymen to join the CNRL Horizon project team on site. This is a temporary position, supporting the Fall Turnaround. Charter flights provided from Calgary, Edmonton and shuttle service from Fort McMurray. Site will provide camp lodging for all workers, with the option of locals to drive in and out.

Scaffolders provide safe and secure scaffold access. Scaffolders assemble, dismantle, modify system and tube and clamp scaffolds.

Scaffolders will be expected to do but are not limited to the following tasks:
  • Communicate effectively with both staff and supervision to ensure expectations are met
  • Design scaffolds to site requirements, material specifications and CSA standards
  • Demonstrate safe work practices in the industrial environment with knowledge of Task Hazard Assessments
  • Fully competent with assembling, dismantling and modifying System (Layer/Ring Lock) and Tube & Clamp scaffolds
  • Knowledge of isometric drawings an asset
  • Support colleagues and participate in skills transfer
  • Prioritize daily workload and manage materials efficiently

Conditions of Employment for this position are:

  • For positions that fall into the list of required positions within the AECOM Oil & Gas Background Check policy, qualified applicants who are offered, and accept, the role must complete a satisfactory pre-employment Background Check. This may consist of all or a combination of the following: Canadian Criminal Record check, an Employment Verification and/or an Education and Accreditation Verification.
  • For positions that fall into the list of required positions within the AECOM Oil & Gas Alcohol & Drug (A&D) policy, qualified applicants who are offered, and accept, a position must provide evidence of a satisfactory Alcohol & Drug test in accordance with the Company’s Alcohol & Drug Policy. In order to be valid, the test must have been conducted at the direction of AECOM - O&G Business Unit.


  • Minimum Requirements
    • Proof of hours (Over 6000 hours) upon request
    • CSO (Common Safety Orientation) / CSTS-2020
    • Confined Space Entry (CSE) (OSSA/ESC)
    • Fall Arrest and/or Fall Protection (OSSA/ESC)
    • H2S Alive
    • Valid Driver’s License

    Preferred Qualifications
    • Scaffold Certificate affiliation is preferred
    • Good mathematical, scientific, mechanical and logical reasoning abilities
