About AgSafe:

AgSafe Agriculture Association is the Health and Safety Association and Certifying Partner for Agriculture in all regions of British Columbia. AgSafe has Safety Consultants and Advisors in all regions of the province providing on-site health and safety support to our membership.

About the Role:

We are looking for a dynamic, dedicated Safety Advisor to provide consultation, education and training to employers and workers in agriculture in the lower mainland regions of British Columbia.

What You’ll Do:

• Conduct health and safety training for farm workers and agricultural employers in the Lower Mainland
• Assist employers/workplaces to develop and maintain their health and safety program.
• Work with farm employers to promote safe work practices and compliance with WorkSafeBC regulations through consultation, training and education.
• Assist with the development of materials on safe work practices, hazard alerts and other safety-related material relevant to AgSafe’s members.
• Maintain liaison with WorkSafeBC representatives to provide health and safety information and cooperate with WorkSafeBC in activities within AgSafe’s mandate.

Who You Are:

• You have a formal education (diploma or certificate) in Occupational Health and Safety and have relatable knowledge or experience in agriculture operations. You bring a minimum of two years of experience working in OHS. Of course, you are an outstanding public speaker!
• Your communication skills are second only to your ability to foster positive and productive relationships as trust and confidence are crucial to your success. Fluency in Spanish would be awesome!
• You have reliable transportation and are willing to travel throughout the Lower Mainland. You possess knowledge of WorkSafeBC Regulations and Guidelines for Occupational Health and Safety and have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• You are experienced in processing information and reliably recording your activities to benefit AgSafe’s membership and understand the confidential nature of the information you receive. You are familiar with the Certificate of Recognition program and are successful in encouraging employers to participate.
• You are excited about continuous learning opportunities, and are professional and reliable.

Salary: $65,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
