Centerfire is currently seeking self motivated, experienced individual to join our workforce as a Safety Administrator

Opportunity:Safety Administrator

Schedule:Monday-Friday, 8 hours per day

Job Location: Split days between Syncrude Base Mine & Suncor Base Plant (will be stationed at Syncrude Base Mine)

This is a site based position, locals preferred or those willing to relocate to Fort McMurray as there’s no travel/accommodation provided.

Description:

To provide on-site administrative support to the onsite superintendents and safety department in accordance with Company Safety, Business and Quality standards and in accordance with company policies and procedures. The site based Safety Administrator will be responsible for Safety related software and internal programs used for controlling, tracking, reporting and auditing along with development and delivery of safety communications, presentations and items related to incident investigation reports with the help and guidance of field HSE.

Qualifications:

  • Preferred - CRSP or OH&S Diploma with 5 years industrial field experience
  • Minimum - NCSO with 5 years industrial field experience
  • CSO
  • Root Cause Analysis Training (Tap-Root or DNV SCAT is preferred)
  • Valid ACSA COR Auditor training & certification
  • Valid Standard First Aid CPR/AED Certification
  • Knowledge to complete initial WCB reporting.
  • Familiarity with maintaining Avetta, ComplyWorks, ISNetworld, Canqual etc.
  • Superior knowledge of Provincial and National HSE regulations.
  • Very Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel & Outlook)
  • Strong planning, organizing and multi-tasking abilities with good written and communication skills.
  • Ability to develop and implement health and safety performance related systems and procedures where required.
  • Self-motivated, flexible & willing to assist with additional safety related items that may not be part of the initial job description.
  • Able to work well with staff, contractors or client personnel
  • Must have a proactive and positive communicative approach to the role.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract.
  • Trade background or additional industrial experience to the above is preferred.
  • Safety equipment training / inspection certification preferred.

Qualifications:

  • Preferred - Minimum HSA designation with 3 years industrial field experience.
  • Must have Energy Safety Canada CSO certificate.
  • Very proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel & Outlook etc.)
  • Strong planning, organizing and multi-tasking abilities with good written and communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, flexible & willing to assist with additional safety related items that may not be part of the initial job description.
  • Willing to travel daily to both sites to assist with HSE program organization, implementation, audits and inspections and all HSE administration items at field level.
  • Some knowledge of Provincial and National HSE regulations.
  • Ability to assist in the development of health and safety performance related systems and procedures where required.
  • Able to professionally work well with staff, contractors or client personnel.
  • Must have a proactive and positive communicative approach to the role.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract.

Responsibilities

The Field Safety Administrator will be responsible for but not limited to:

  • Update company online safety management program Workhub for assigned locations.
  • Assist with completion of prequalification packages for upcoming work.
  • Assist with subcontractor pre-qualification reviews and submitted documentation.
  • Work with HR, Filed HSE & Superintendent in relation to orientations/onboarding of new employees.
  • Ensure both electronic and hard copy filing/tracking is kept current and organized.
  • Assist with collection and completion of initial field required WCB reports, clearance letters and help with some case management tasks as it relates to company modified work program. (Assist in completion of restricted/modified work offers).
  • Assist in creation, revisions or updates of company HSE policies, procedures, practices with field, lead and HSE Director.
  • Assist with location specific training updates in Workhub.
  • Update/Revise JHA’s as required.
  • Completing/Creating HSE reports and gathering statistics.
  • Assist in creation/review of incident trending reports.
  • Monthly inspection tracking and follow up.
  • Attend / perform HSE meetings as required.
  • Create training compliance tracking and reporting to be delivered at required meetings.
  • Assist with booking employee safety training.
  • Complete and distribute HSE communications & bulletins applicable to assigned location.
