Dairy Lane Systems started in 1990 as a Surge milking equipment dealer. Since that time, we have expanded our scope to include automated milking robots, stabling, manure management, plumbing and ventilation services. Most recently, we acquired 2 milking equipment dealerships in Western Canada. In addition to the milking equipment sales, service and installation business, we are also involved in the design, build and operation of renewable energy biogas plants (DLS Biogas), the construction of agricultural structures (DLS Structures) and the manufacturing of dairy farm equipment (DLS Manufacturing).

The successful candidate will engage with numerous customers daily ensuring they have the required product and service they have come to know and expect! You will learn the products and make recommendations to customers. Route trucks are fully stocked with chemicals and miscellaneous parts required for the day-to-day operation of our dairy customers!

This is a full-time position Monday – Friday working 7:00 am – 4:00 pm. We offer a total compensation package that includes competitive pay, comprehensive benefits, workwear, PPE and the opportunity for growth and advancement, come grow with us!

Job Requirements

Ø Pick up and drop off items while adhering to assigned routes and time schedules.

Ø Review orders before and after delivery to ensure that orders are complete, the charges are correct, and the customer is satisfied.

Ø Load and unload route truck.

Ø Provide excellent customer service, answer questions, and handle complaints from clients.

Ø Provide basic on-farm hygiene assessments - training provided.

Ø Remove milking liners from shells and run shells through the wash process.

Ø Abide by all transportation laws and maintain a safe driving record.

Ø Prepare reports and other documents relating to deliveries.

Ø Operate a forklift.

Ø Provide a high level of customer service to earn and maintain current and new business.

Ø Utilize professional business etiquette.

Ø Build customer relationships and develop new route customers.

Ø Operate and maintain vehicles in compliance with all applicable regulations and laws.

Ø Maintain a clean and well-kept truck.

Ø Observe all company safety rules, company rules and regulations and complete all required paperwork in a timely manner.

Ø Assist in monitoring inventory, chemical and supply needs for forecasting, warehouse, and inventory control in conjunction with the warehouse assistant.

Ø Provide input for structuring efficient routes and schedules as needed.

Ø Monitor competitor activities and pricing, keeping manager informed.

Ø Keep route records up to date.

Ø Maintain a professional and courteous relationship with other DLS team members.

Ø Complete daily vehicle circle checks and all required forms and paperwork

Ø Perform other duties and tasks as assigned

Skills and Qualifications

Ø Valid D license with clean driving record – (an abstract will be required/we will reimburse the cost)

Ø Prior customer service, route sales, delivery experience preferred

Ø Strong customer service skills

Ø Minimum Grade 12 education

Ø Basic understanding of dairy farms and dairy hygiene products is an asset

Ø Computer proficiency

Ø Forklift experience required

Ø Excellent time management skills and highly organized to plan your day and prioritize your workload

Ø Must be able to work unsupervised and take full ownership of the job

Ø Strong communication skills to clearly communicate with team members and customers

Ø Strong work ethic and desire to be part of a high-performing team

Ø High level of attention to detail

Ø Ability to work with a sense of urgency while moving from one farm to the next

Ø Able to lift up to 50 lbs

Ø Must be a quick learner and display initiative

Ø Must be legally entitled to work and live in Canada

Ø Valid D driver’s license with clean abstract – the successful candidate will be required to provide a driver abstract (we will reimburse the cost)
