We are looking for a Research Associate for the Simulation and numerical modeling team to support our Automotive and Surface Transportation (AST) Research Center. Activities also include the development of proposals for new research initiatives, project management, and providing service to NRC clients. The candidate would be someone who shares our core values of Integrity, Excellence, Respect and Creativity.

Within the Simulation and Numerical Modeling team, the incumbent will join a group of experts working on the development and application of simulation software applied to manufacturing processes and optimization. He/she will support the material development via exploration of new designs and optimization of new topologies for improved performance of magnetic motors and systems, which should address the needs of clients and stakeholders from the automotive industry. The research domains of interest for NRC include presently the advanced manufacturing, light weighting of ground transportation vehicles and vehicle propulsion technologies.

Screening Criteria

Applicants must demonstrate within the content of their application that they meet the following screening criteria in order to be given further consideration as candidates:

Education

As part of the RA Program you must have received your PhD or Masters in physics, electrical, mechanical, materials engineering or similar field within the last five years or you expect to receive the degree within the next six months.
