Extendicare recognizes the importance of immunization to protect our residents, patients, team members and visitors from COVID-19. Receptionist – Part Time
Candidates are invited to apply for the Part Time Receptionist to work 30 hours biweekly in our 170 bed Long Term Care Home, located in London, Ontario.
Reporting to the Office Manager, the Receptionist provides clerical support, excellent customer service and performs financial and human resources duties in a fast-paced and busy environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Professionally answer telephones, greets the public and provides information/reception duties.
  • Courteously responds to enquiries and concerns from residents, families and staff.
  • Create, edit and format documents, including desktop publishing and data entry.
  • Effectively performs accounts receivable and payable duties, with attention to detail.
  • Accurately conducts balancing of petty cash, bank deposits, collection of rent, billing and invoicing.
  • Inputs data for staff shifts in Scheduling system.
  • Adheres to established policies and procedures regarding quality assurance, occupational health and safety, environment and infection control.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all financial, personnel and resident data.
  • Presenting a positive image of the Home, greets visitors, determines purpose of visit; directs visitors to proper location as appropriate; informs staff of visitor’s arrival; monitors comings and goings of residents from facility.
  • Maintains the inventory levels of nursing supplies, forms and equipment.
  • Maintains files/records such as current and/or discharged resident files, in-service attendance records, etc.
  • Organizes new admissions charts
  • Communicates and maintains positive relationship with staff
  • Processes daily staff compliment sheets, scheduling for Nursing department, replaces staff when ill, absent, processes payroll
  • Participates in facility meetings as assigned. Attends in-service education
  • Adheres to policies and procedures for department regarding confidentiality, infection control, safety and quality assurance.
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Secondary School Diploma and one-year Office Education Certification.
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Knowledge and experience with office equipment including personal computers, Microsoft office, electronic scheduling and payroll systems.
  • Must have experience in banking practices i.e. deposits, trust, etc. and sufficient accounting knowledge to determine proper entries.
  • Experience with payroll, accounts receivable, and accounts payable practices.
  • Has knowledge and understanding of Occupational Health & Safety practices, principles and legislation.
  • Ability to interpret and adhere to collective agreements.
  • Ability to read and write English as well as to understand complex verbal and written instructions in English.
