Available Shift Schedule: Weekend Shift 7:00am-7:00pm (Friday-Sunday)

*The Opportunity:

The Quality Control (QC) Lead reports directly to the QC Supervisor and will work closely with the QC Team. The QC Lead will provide quality support to projects to ensure adherence to Good Documentation, Production Practices and Health Canada Regulations. The QC Lead is responsible for overseeing Tech I, and Tech 2 activities, delegating when necessary and reporting any concerns to QC Supervisor. The QC Lead will collaborate with the Quality Assurance Associates and Sanitation Supervisor to ensure company polices and SOPs are adhered to and maintained.*

As a Quality Control Lead you will:

  • Coordinate shift expectations with QC Tech 1 and Tech 2s and set daily team goals.
  • Assist with quality concerns from other departments and escalate when deemed appropriate to QC Supervisor and Senior Quality Manager.
  • Organize the shift hand off meetings to ensure visibility and consistency between shifts.
  • Attend training sessions related to quality and provide training to QC team as required.
  • Respond to documentation, line clearance or other cross-departmental concerns related to quality.
  • Perform in real-time quality audits and evaluations to ensure compliance of company policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Coordinate environmental monitor sampling and pest control activities.
  • Attend shift production meetings when Supervisor is not available.
  • Organize packaging and raw material sampling, perform these tasks when necessary.
  • Collaborate with QC Supervisor to review, approve and release incoming cannabis products.
  • Review and approve primary, bulk and master case labels.
  • Batch record issuance and review.
  • Coordinate with Sanitation Supervisor to ensure cleaning frequencies are upheld and SOPs are followed.
  • All QC Tech 1 and Tech 2 tasks as needed.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the Senior Quality Manager.

As a Quality Control Lead you bring:

  • Minimum of a B.Sc. in a science discipline or related diploma program.
  • 2-4 years’ experience in Quality Assurance/Quality Control function (external) and 1+ years as a Quality Control Technician (internal).
  • Strong Knowledge of the Cannabis Act, Health Canada, GPP and GACP regulations.
  • Previous Health Canada Security clearance and work experience with a Canadian License Dealer or Licensed Producer is an asset.
  • Assertive and diplomatic individual with excellent analytical, trouble shooting, and decision- making skills.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook and electronic databases.
  • Ability to quickly learn new and novel manufacturing processes supporting new clients in a fast- paced environment.
  • Ability to train and mentor.
  • Strong English communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Motivated individual who can work independently or in a team setting to complete tasks.
  • Able to take directions and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Proven reliability and autonomy with reoccurring tasks.
  • Can obtain a clean criminal record check.
  • All successful candidates are required to pass background checks.
