About The Role

We’re looking for a Property Claims Representative to join our growing team!

As a Property Claims Representative, your work will have a big impact on being in assisting our customers through their Property Loss. People will count on you to effectively communicate and settle property claims both online and over the phone. You will help our customers through difficult times, demonstrating empathy and strong listening skills as you investigate a wide variety of claims through to completion. You will be responsible for helping our customers using a variety of different technological tools in order to provide expedient and efficient service.

What You’ll Do Here

• Provide a superior quality of customer service to external and internal customers, through proactive contact with the customer during the claims process.
• Analyze the information gathered, interprets insurance policy wordings, determines coverage, assesses damage.
• Investigate property claims in a timely manner through communication with the customer, vendors, experts, adjusters and any other related parties.
• Document the claims file by obtaining appropriate reports and statements from customers, appraisers, third party adjusters, claimants, witnesses, police, and any other pertinent experts to determine coverage within established authority limits, negotiate with customers to settle claims.
• Keep up to date on Intact’s insurance products, appraisal and investigation techniques, and services.
• Work diligently to maintain a standard of quality and meet departmental and corporate goals and targets.
  

Qualifications

What you bring to the table:

• A college diploma or a university degree is preferred
• 1-2 years of claims experience
• Demonstrates a passion for customer service with strong written and verbal communication skills
• Self-motivated and goal oriented, capable of working in a fast paced and changing environment
• Demonstrates strong problem solving and priority management skills
• Strong aptitude for technology with excellent computer skills
• On-going commitment to self-development
• Willing to pursue your Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation
• Bilingual (English/French) is considered an asset
