Position Overview
The City of North Vancouver is the urban core of the beautiful North Shore and has a long-term vision to be “The Healthiest Small City in the World”, with five key priorities to be a City for People, a Liveable City, a Vibrant City, a Connected City and a Prosperous City.

The Engineering, Parks and Environment department has an exciting opportunity for a temporary, full time Project Manager, Public Works Operations for approximately 2 years. The Engineering, Parks and Environment Department is responsible for the City’s streets, utilities, parks and open spaces.

We are looking for a results-oriented professional who can provide strong communication and organizational skills in a role that focusses on the development of strategic plans including assessment, maintenance and replacement of City infrastructure.

Responsibilities
Specific duties and responsibilities include; creating infrastructure inventories and making recommendations based on modelling and analysis, overseeing existing City programs as well as developing new ones, estimating infrastructure improvements, managing projects including budget estimates, cost controls and contract administration, liaising with consultants and ensuring contract obligations are met, preparing technical reports and proposals, and managing the City’s soil waste site.

Requirements
You have related municipal experience in a supervisory and administrative capacity along with a diploma or degree in Business Administration. You possess attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple projects of varying size and complexity, and have experience in municipal infrastructure management. Your strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills will facilitate the working relationships with internal and external contacts. Strong computer skills using Microsoft Office Suite are required and experience using an ERP (ie: Hansen Public Works) would be an asset. A Class 5 BC driver’s license is also required.
