Job Description

A vital part of IBI Group’s success is the dedication of our Canada East Finance team. IBI Group’s Markham West office is searching for a Project Accountant to join its growing team.

Are you looking for a challenging opportunity where you will take on a variety of responsibilities in a fast paced environment? Are you looking for an opportunity to further develop your accounting skills and work with individuals at different levels within an organization?

Most of the things you’ll work on:

• Work very closely with Project Directors and Managers to monitor and control all project related financial data for an assigned portfolio of projects
• Review contracts for fees, billing terms, and milestones
• Perform project billings, collections, and monitoring and analysis of all project costs and invoices
• Analysis of the project details to determine fees to be billed and ensure all re-billable expenses are included on invoices
• Prepare project summaries and analyses as required
• Monitor project progress towards completion and assist Project Directors and Managers with the financial analysis of projects
• Other duites as required

Qualifications

You’ll need to have:

• A degree in Accounting or Finance
• Minimum 1- 3 years of project accounting experience
• Possess superior organization skills and a sense of urgency
• Superior communication skills, both written and verbal
• Work well independently and in a team environment
• Demonstrate ability to work in a multi-tasked, fast-paced and changing environment
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, with advanced skills in Excel
• Experience with standard contract terms and how they are applied to the billing process
• Strong prioritization skills and ability to manage a high volume of competing requests
• Self-starter with the initiative to learn new project accounting systems and complex contracts
• Excellent interpersonal skills; willing and wanting to work in a collaborative environment
• Strong attention to detail

Additional Information

We are currently in a work from home model during COVID-19 but when we do return to the office we’re located at 8133 Warden Avenue, Markham.
