Salary Grade: N07 From: $84,008.05 To: $105,010.06

Job Summary

This role will be supporting the stakeholder engagement team in the Workplace Health and Safety Services division

As a Program Management Consultant on the stakeholder engagement team you will:
  • Apply critical thinking skills as you develop strategies to build positive relationships and influence both internal and external stakeholders
  • Research and develop briefing notes, reports and presentations, etc., that will support key objectives of the Workplace Health and Safety Services (WHSS) division, including promotion of the Health and Safety Excellence program and other projects and priorities
  • Use your stakeholder expertise to provide detailed review, including an analysis of stakeholder issues and impacts, and recommendations on key tactics, campaigns and communications
Key Accountabilities And Responsibilities
  • Provide advice, expertise and support on program design/redesign, implementation, monitoring and evaluation;
  • preparing and assisting with program development brainstorming sessions by;
    • providing advice and framework for planning sessions
    • assisting to lead/facilitate concept development
    • creating draft concept models for discussion
    • summarizing meeting notes and action points
  • drafting project plans with activities, milestones and timelines; drafting program plans outlining methods/approaches, systems to capture results, critical success factors; draft evaluation tools
  • identifying preliminary/potential change management impacts related to people, processes and systems
  • determine potential policy and legislative impacts to program design/redesign
  • creating tracking tools, tracking, monitoring and reporting on program development progress
  • highlighting issues/barriers to program development and providing recommendations for resolution
  • conducting best practice (and jurisdictional scans) research and summarizing in a report for Manager review
  • Proactively liaise with the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development (MLITSD) and Health and Safety Association (HSA) management staff to ensure an integration between WSIB health and safety programs and health and safety system priorities by;
  • actively participating as the WSIB representative on health and safety system committees led by the MLITSD and HSAs designed to address system priority issues (e.g. occupational disease, mental health) and develop and implement responsive plans
  • providing subject matter expertise on WSIB health and safety programs, related policies and WSIA to inform project development work
  • developing and maintain strong relationships with health and safety system partners to achieve positive business outcomes
  • responding to and managing common issues
  • identifying potential political ‘red flags” and reporting to Manager
  • Engage WHSS management team and divisional staff to support program development alignment to MLITSD strategic priorities and the WSIB strategic direction by;
  • providing regular updates to WHSS management on outcomes of system priority meetings
  • meeting regularly with WSIB health and safety program management and staff to stay current on program requirements, standards and administration
  • identifying and recommending health and safety system strategic priorities (elements) that can be incorporated into WHSS programs and services
  • gathering program business requirements to populate marketing plans and campaigns to increase program awareness and participation
  • Collaborate with Communications Health and Safety Business Partner to identify, implement and evaluate WSIB health and safety program marketing plans and tactics, implementation approaches and evaluation methods to increase program awareness and participation by;
  • capturing program business requirements
  • researching and reporting back on “best practices” to engage small business and industry sector employers
  • identifying maximum and a variety of channels to distribute key messages and inform campaigns
  • developing key messages and creating a value proposition for employers to participate
  • advising on program design/redesign activities and progress
  • identify opportunities to establish and leverage partnerships to increase awareness
  • contributing to the development and implementation of marketing materials and campaigns
  • assisting to evaluate program(s) marketing effectiveness by capturing and reporting on results of customer satisfaction surveys, program participation numbers, determining how employers found out about the programs etc.
Job Requirements
  • Education (Level and Specialty / Discipline):
  • Post secondary degree from a recognized University with a specialty in business administration, public administration or social/health sciences
  • Experience (Years of Related Experience and Type of Experience):
  • 5-7 years experience in program development and/or project management
  • 5 years minimum experience in stakeholder engagement
  • 2 years minimum in program marketing or promotion
  • Demonstrated political acumen and relationship building
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Driver’s license
  • Technical or Professional Qualifications or Certifications/Designations:
  • Program Management certification is an asset
  • Health and safety and/or disability management professional designation is an asset
  • Project Management Professional is an asset
