Nature’s Way of Canada wants you to join our growing company and talented team! We are currently searching for an experienced Production Technician who thrives in a team based environment and demonstrates positive attitude to join our Operations team in Dartmouth Nova Scotia. Nature’s Way is known world-wide as a leading provider of high quality natural medicines and nutritional supplements, including an expansive line of herbs, omega-3 oils, probiotics, and multivitamins.

We operate eight hour shifts in a clean and bright work environment Monday through Friday with no overnight work required. Conveniently located in Burnside, we offer free on-site parking. Reporting directly to and directed day to day by the Operations Supervisor, the Production Technicianis accountable for the safe and efficient operation of equipment according to established Standard Operating Procedures and production records for the manufacture of natural health products in accordance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s).

Main Duties/Responsibilities:

Production Duties:

  • Adhere to all standard operating procedures and Good Manufacturing Processes (SOPs/GMP) to combine ingredients and operate equipment resulting in compliant product
  • Adhere to all SOP’s for shipping and receiving materials
  • Lift and stack materials onto pallets and secure for movement
  • Perform general housekeeping duties to keep work area clean at all times
  • Daily staging of raw materials for production
  • Document all actions accurately and in a timely manner
  • Work in close collaboration with Quality Department to ensure compliance of product and process
  • Choose appropriate materials for use including first in first out.
  • Adhere to all company health and safety requirements

General Operations Duties:

  • Apply shipping labels to cases and pallets
  • Store/remove materials in warehouse following First In/First Out (FIFO)
  • May include other duties as assigned from time to time

Required skills and experience:

  • Direct experience with processing and packaging equipment is preferred
  • Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent education is required
  • Experience collaborating with a Quality team considered an asset
  • Experience with detailed documentation and basic math calculations, and a basic understanding of measurements and weights required
  • Ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs, safely maneuver heavy items and stand for prolonged periods
  • Production experience in the natural health product, pharmaceutical or food industry an asset
  • Forklift experience an asset, willingness to be trained is required
  • Good understanding of health and safety requirements within a production environment
  • Must be a true team player who is also able to work independently as required
