Process Development Technician, Analytical

BIOVECTRA Inc. is a leading bio-science business in Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia, focused on contract manufacturing and product development of active pharmaceutical ingredients, pharmaceutical intermediates, and bioreagents.

BIOVECTRA Inc.has an opening for aProcess Development Technician, Analytical.This is a full-time permanent position located in Windsor, NS.

The candidate will be responsible for:

• Maintaining the laboratory and scheduling instrument use.
• Calibrating and maintaining laboratory equipment.
• Coordinating with Metrology to schedule vendor visits and servicing of new and existing equipment.
• Organizing and cleaning glassware.
• General housekeeping duties to maintain cleanliness of laboratory equipment and workspaces.
• Overseeing inventory of reagents, chemicals, and supplies in the Analytical PD laboratory.
• Ensuring the correct status labeling of reagents and instrumentation in the Analytical PD laboratory.
• Assisting scientists in routine testing to support development work in the PD group through reagent preparation and routine testing.
• Maintaining accurate, real-time records of all laboratory activities.
• Complying with approved safety practices for the laboratory facility.

The successful candidate for this position should have:

• Post-secondary diploma in Chemistry, Biotechnology or similar field.
• Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology and related fields considered an asset.
• Experience working in a laboratory setting as asset.
