Allteck is seeking Power Line Technicians to join our ROC divisions in Prince George & Vancouver, BC, as well as Saskatoon, SK! The PLT’s will be required to have Hot Stick Live Line distribution experience and a valid Class 3 driver’s license, as a minimum.
General Duties:
The duties of a Power Line Technician (PLT) are various and depend specifically on their level of responsibility assigned by Allteck. Higher degrees of responsibility correlate directly with PLT experience and demonstrated capability to supervise a crew.
The PLT’s will construct, maintain and repair overhead and underground electrical power transmission and distribution systems. Some PLT’s shall specialize in one of the following areas: transmission lines, overhead and underground distribution, underground feeder and transmission, and electrical power stations. The degree of specialization will depend on experience and ability. Other duties include:
- Erect and maintain steel, wood or concrete poles, towers and guy wires.
- Install, maintain and repair overhead and underground power lines and cables, and other associated equipment such as insulators, conductors, lightning arrestors, switches, transformers and lighting systems.
- Splice and terminate conductors and related wiring to connect power distribution and transmission networks.
- Perform stringing operations for both distribution and transmission circuits.
- Additional duties and responsibilities, as assigned or required.
