Aventiv Research, IACT Health, LMC Manna Research, and True North Clinical Research have united to become the largest network of fully-owned and integrated clinical research sites in North America, Centricity Research.The sites that were formerly known as Aventiv operate in Ohio and Arizona and specialize in phase 1 pharmaceutical, device, and diagnostic clinical trials in a variety of therapeutic areas throughout phases 1-4. The sites that were formerly known as IACT Health brings phase I-IV clinical trials in over 30 therapeutic areas such as oncology, cardiology, pulmonology, endocrinology, infectious disease, and pain with wholly owned and integrated clinical research offices in multiple cities in the United States across the Southeast, including Georgia and Virginia. The sites that were formerly known as LMC Manna bring phase I-IV clinical trial services with specialized focuses on endocrine disorders, real world evidence big data research, vaccine research, and primary care studies within Canada at sites across Alberta, Ontario, and Quebec. The sites that were formerly known as True North Clinical Research are located in Nova Scotia and specialize in research related to Alzheimer’s disease and conditions related to aging, and are committed to finding new treatments to maintain an improved quality of life for patients through innovation and passion.Centricity Research is committed to revolutionize research by creating outstanding clinical trial experiences to improve the health of the community today and tomorrow through clinical research.Currently, our rapidly expanding team and site network is looking for a Pharmacy Technician who can work for us on a full-time basis, night shift only, supporting our New Minas, Nova Scotia location.POSITION FUNCTIONThe Pharmacy Technician is responsible for supporting the efficient and accurate conduct of clinical trials under the direction of Operations Management. The Pharmacy Technician will support the clinical team and demonstrate exemplary patient care. Essential Functions
  • Prepare medications under the direction of a physician
  • Maintain and inspect expiration dates for all IP, medications and supplies needed for pharmacy use, including on-site emergency medication
  • Maintain drug accountability logs for all medications including oral, injectable medication, etc.
  • Ensure drug accountability logs are accurate and up-to-date by the end of the business day
  • Maintain proper storage and security conditions for all drugs as outlined and required by protocol
  • Maintain temperature logs for ambient rooms, refrigerators, and freezers
  • Establish and maintain patient drug administration records for Sponsors, CROs, Regulatory Agencies, or other industry representatives
  • Follow protocol-established procedures for each clinical trial such as labeling vials and/or bottles with appropriate subject information
  • Renew relevant licenses as required
  • Establish good working relationships with Sponsors, CROs, and other industry representatives
  • Ensure availability of documents, records, used and unused drug for all monitoring visits whether blinded or unblinded
  • Ensure accurate completion of Case Report Forms (CRFs) and Electronic Data Capture for clinical trials specific sites
  • Follow procedures outlined by the Sponsor, CRO or other industry representative for drug destruction for the close-out of the clinical trial
  • Train employees and model continuous improvement practices
  • Other duties as assigned
Education/ExperienceMinimum:
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician in Province of Nova Scotia
  • 1-year hospital or pharmacy experience
Preferred:
  • 2 or more years of hospital or pharmacy experience
  • Clinical Research experience

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Physical demands include but not limited to prolonged sitting, light lifting, standing, reaching, walking, and bending.
  • Frequently required to complete work on the computer in a seated position
  • May be required to lift light boxes (10 - 20lbs)
WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Modern medical office environment.
  • Required to follow all healthcare industry OHSA and OSHA guidelines
  • Required to perform duties in relation to PHIPA, HIPAA, PIDEDA
  • Some positions may require overnight/weekend hours
