Position Summary

Under the general direction of the Designated Pharmacy Manager, the Pharmacist is responsible for ensuring that all prescriptions are dispensed accurately and safely while providing pharmaceutical patient care ensuring the highest level of therapeutic appropriateness for patients.

Your Day to Day

  • Participating in dispensing of prescriptions, including computer entry, triage of new orders, collation of data and clinical reviews.
  • Ensuring the accuracy of prescriptions dispensed
  • Providing professional functions related to dispensing including pharmaceutical care, patient counseling, Med Reviews and Professional Opinions, liaising with other healthcare professionals and documenting interventions and dialogue
  • Assisting the Pharmacy Manager in training of new staff
  • Providing supervision and leadership in the dispensary while on duty
  • Requirement to participate in an on-call rotation

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Must be licensed and in good standing with the British Columbia College of Pharmacists, expected to adhere to the Standards of Practice with the British Columbia College of Pharmacists
  • Minimum 1 year Pharmacist experience
  • Experience in a Long Term Care pharmacy environment preferred
  • Experience with Kroll an asset
  • Must be able to speak fluent English and Korean
