YOUR ROLE

You will be responsible for maintaining all facets of the physical facility and grounds to ensure that our facility is operable and in compliance with health and safety requirements. Models and acts in accordance with our guiding principles and core values.

Work Location: 3200 East Broadway, Vancouver, BC

*Location is a 5 to 10-minute walk from Rupert Sky Station

Work Hours:

Part Time:
Tuesday to Saturday 9:00 AM start - flexible end

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?

  • Maintain and repair automated conveyor system –VFD, motors, mechanical and electrical controls, including ongoing predictive and preventative maintenance.
  • Understanding of PLC controls and programing (Allen Bradley) (ability to program preferred).
  • Working knowledge and understanding of air compressors and basic pneumatics required, including ability to diagnose and repair as required.
  • Ability to read and interpret equipment schematics (drawings) electrical, electronic, equipment (conveyor) and building.
  • Maintain interior and exterior of building, grounds and structure to ensure everything in, and around the facility is operable and in compliance with health and safety requirements.
  • Oversee all predictive and preventative building maintenance periodic fire and related safety inspections.
  • Work collaboratively with GM and operations team to keep maintenance costs at a minimum and within budgetary guidelines.
  • Assist as needed in warehouse operations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

Education & Qualifications

  • High School diploma and/or 2-5 year related or industry work experience.
  • Electronic / Electrical Technician
  • PLC programing (Allen Bradley)
  • Pneumatics

Requirements

  • Mechanical Engineering and/or Electrical Engineering knowledge
  • PLC programing (Allen Bradley)
  • Must be able to read, write, and communicate fluently in English.
  • Have their own tools.
  • Be able to assemble, install, repair machinery investigate malfunction and troubleshoot, lubricate, perform maintenance work on machinery.
  • Adhere to Health and Safety standards and have a safety-first work style.
  • Able to work fast-paced environment.
  • Positive attitude, courteous manner, and flexible.
  • Consistently reliable and dependable.
  • Able to repair painting and has minor plumbing experience.
  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively with people from multi-functional and diverse backgrounds.
  • Oral and Reading Comprehension- the ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences. Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.
  • Self-Management - able to manage time effectively while placing appropriate emphasis on excellence and speed of response in work performance.
  • Safety- personal willingness to practice a standard of occupational health and safety including proper use of equipment and protective devices, and promote a safe working environment conducive to all involved.

Working Conditions

  • Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
  • Light to moderate lifting required with the ability to use your abdominal and lower back muscles to support the body repeatedly or continuously without ‘giving out’ or fatiguing
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Operate maintenance equipment.
  • Must be legally able to work in Canada
