Shur- way Group isan industry leader in the manufacturing of wooden pallets, crates and wooden reels. The company has been providing customers in Canada and the USA for over 40 years. Our strong growth has provided the opportunity to hire new employees for positions within the general labour group, lumber cutting and preparation team. The organization also has opportunities such as assemblers that build pallets, reels and crates for our team.

Positions are available with full time dayshift Monday to Friday (5 - 8hr shifts) as well as the afternoon shift running Mon-Thursday (4 - 10hr shifts)

Positions are available full time opportunities Monday to Friday with openings on either shift within the facility based on availability.

Piece work opportunities for assemblers are also available with starting base of $16.80 and having potential earnings of well over $23 per hour based on your personal work ethic and pace of assembly. Assembler positions should be comfortable handling nail guns or other equipment for assembly.

Work Environment

- The work environment consists of seasonal temperature in an indoor facility.

- Exposure to dust and loud noise (PPE is provided)

- Scheduled 8 or 10 hours per day depending on assigned shift. There will be a 30 minute unpaid lunch, 2 paid 15 minute breaks, and 15 minutes paid clean-up and stocking period at the end of the shift.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Comply with safe work practices while using the provided personal protection equipment (PPE) at all times while performing job duties

- Ensure that daily inspection of tools, work station and check lists are completed

- Inspects job visually for quality compliance within set criteria.

- Restock supplies at the end of shift

- Clean personal area during and at end of shift

- Meets or exceed daily production target

- Opportunity to work occasional overtime during week or weekend as scheduled

- All other duties as assigned (pallet repair, sorting, manual sorting, cleaning, etc) to support and improve the overall team operations

- Reporting relationships, work assignments, and work schedules are subject to change to meet company needs and business requirements

Experience and Requirements

- Some experience in construction, carpentry, landscaping and/or related fields

- Ability to safely operate basic hand/power tools

- Ability to understand and follow instructions

- Ability to communicate effectively

- Good attendance and punctuality record
