OSP Engineer/Technician

Job description:

· Use client requirements to evaluate and/or design FTTH

· Ensure accurate survey plans are generated

· Develop and maintaining company standards for maps

· Work within outlined design standards

· Segment existing plant to new standards

· Use software packages to create design, construction and as-built mapping

· Use multiple mapping systems and software such as AutoCAD, Spatial Info, Lode Data, Etc.

· Work within a team environment

The successful candidate will ideally have:

· A degree or diploma in a related engineering field or equivalent experience

· Proficiency in AutoCAD, Spatial Info, FOCUS, Lode Data, CableCad, Small World, Etc.

· Some recognized training in FTTH or HFC design

· Knowledge of the telecommunications industry would be an asset

Job Specific Information:

· This is a full time permanent position

· Entitlement to full company benefits after probation period of 3 months

· Must be legally authorized to work in Canada

· Must provide drivers abstract upon hire

· Upon hiring employee will be required to pass a back check process

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Dartmouth, NS B3B 1K8: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

Education:

• DCS / DEC (preferred)

Experience:

• telecom: 2 years (preferred)
