VH Nuclear Medicine

This role will supervise all quality assurance activities related to radiopharmaceuticals for London Health Sciences Centre and St. Joseph’s Health Center. They will supervise the procurement, compounding, quality assurance, distribution, patient outcomes and use of investigational nuclear pharmaceuticals and radio diagnostic kits. Consultation and information will be provided to Nuclear Medicine physicians, residents, technologists and other health professionals locally and regionally. Regulatory and Quality Assurance oversight is provided for routine and new radiopharmaceuticals and/or their applications for diagnosis and/or treatment. Partnering with Nuclear Medicine Physicians, researchers and leadership to utilize diagnostic and therapeutic Radiopharmaceuticals to realize the strategic plan and vision of the Nuclear Medicine department. The successful candidate will have the opportunity for protected academic time to develop their research goals.

Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week

Qualifications

  • Successful completion of a Doctorate Degree in Nuclear/Radiopharmacy or Medical Sciences
  • Minimum five (5) years of relevant related experience
  • Demonstrated advanced quality control problem solving and development of control procedures
  • Demonstrated advanced sterile dispensing/manufacturing experience
  • Expertise in research and development on cost efficient use of radiopharmaceuticals
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Clinical trial submissions and oversight of Drug Master File
  • Advanced knowledge of Health Canada GMP and GCP and Compounding Pharmacy Regulations
  • Advanced Graduate and Post-graduate level research experience
  • Demonstrated practice and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
  • Demonstrated practice and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
  • Demonstrated practice and commitment to LHSC’s Mission, Vision and Values
  • Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis

Immunization Requirements:

  • Successful candidates will be required to complete a health review which includes providing vaccination records or proof of immunity against Measles, Mumps, Rubella and Varicella(Chicken Pox). In addition candidates will need to provide documentation of Tuberculosis Skin testing and a completed COVID vaccine series (two vaccines).
