Reporting to the Manager of Student Information Systems this position will assist with the administration of a variety of essential functions performed by the SIS Support Team.Duties/Responsibilities:
Supervise Student Information Support staff supporting SIS applications and companion products.
Proficient knowledge of relevant Board policies and procedures, administrative and Ministry regulations, policies and guideline that govern educational data.
Knowledge of software and programs such as our current SIS product suite and its business rules, third party integrations, OnSIS, reporting, and Google Workplace are required.
Analyze and interpret new system updates, Ministry Memos, Ministry Policy and Program Memoranda and Board Policy for their impact on Student Application Users.
Determine training and in-service requirements for current and new users of SIS applications.
Knowledge of varying tools for presentation and training in person and online and the creation of instructional materials; technical skills to assist in troubleshooting and evaluation applications;
Troubleshoot problems, replicate all software problems in test environment and respond to end user requests.
Create and test reports to ensure data accuracy;
Function as Security Administrator for SIS application and companion products,
Ensure critical timelines are met to support both school based operations and Ministry OnSIS collection requirements.
Support the implementation of new board-wide systems that impact many users, with minimal disruption while retaining data accuracy
Co-ordinate testing, installation, training and documentation revisions for new software upgrades
Provide administrative support to WECDSB Continuing Education Programs: Night School, Summer School, International Languages etc.
Maintain production SIS functions, project schedules, and managing multiple priorities;
Ability to work independently and learn new technology within a short timeframe;
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Experience :
A University degree or Three-Year College Diploma in a related field and a minimum of three years experience, preferably with a school board or an equivalent combination of formal education and related experience
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills and ability to meet deadlines under pressure
Advanced proficiency in MS Office Excel and Google Workplace;
Advanced Demonstrated initiative, self-motivation and independent thought;
Ability to work effectively both independently as well as part of a team;
Strong professional and organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy;
Strengths in analyzing and problem solving;
Ability to handle matters in a diplomatic, sensitive and confidential manner;
Ability and willingness to take an active role in the development and organizational components of special projects;
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact effectively with employees, management, unions/associations, third party vendors;
Willing to work flexible hours and able to work within deadlines.
