Millwright: Journeyperson &/or Apprentice

Position
Reporting to the District Manager, you will complete work in a safe and appropriate manner. You will be responsible for safely executing various millwrighting duties and you will be required to follow all policies and procedures and legislation required to operate the equipment safety.
The work schedule will be based on five 10-hour days, 5 days / week. Larger projects will require a longer different shift. Working away from home will be required for this position. Paid travel and meal allowances supplied.

This position will be located in Saskatoon, SK.

Job Duties

  • Ability to work with material handling systems including; bucket elevators, dust collection systems, grain cleaning equipment, conveyors, augers, fans, motors vacuums, pumps, compressors etc.
  • Inspection, installation, adjustment and maintenance of mechanical machines and equipment on site.
  • Machine troubleshooting, repair, assembly, and preventative maintenance.
  • Dismantling, repairing, and assembling equipment as required and in-line with manufacturers specifications and recommended standards.
  • Thorough knowledge and use of a micrometer, dial indicators, and other tools necessary to achieve the settings and tolerances required.
  • Adhere to workplace safety policies, regulations and compliances.
  • Inspect equipment on a regular basis, pre and post operating.
  • Communicate any unsafe conditions or wear and/or damage of equipment to supervisor in order to facilitate corrective action and meet federal regulations.
  • Safely work from a ladder, platform, staging scaffold or mobile basket.
  • Ability to weld an asset.
  • Working at heights will be required.

Qualifications
The successful candidate will have:

  • Strong knowledge in general maintenance & millwrighting
  • Journeyman Red Seal Millwright Ticket preferred; All apprentices will be considered.
  • Experience in Agriculture Industry with Grain Material Handling Systems an asset
  • Knowledge of conveyors, belt bucket elevators, and grain cleaning equipment an asset
  • Ability to read blueprints and construction drawings and initiate drawing changes.
  • Class 5 Driver’s License
  • Effective, self-managing, good problem-solving skills, planning, organizing and priority setting skills combined with a strong work ethic
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be open and flexible to change, take initiative
  • First Aid / Safety Tickets an asset.
