Mechanical Engineer I

An entry level position, working towards becoming a professional engineer.

Undertaking all phases of the engineering design process for mechanical building systems, HVAC, steam, compressed air, plumbing etc. for nuclear and non-nuclear clients.

Your Day To Day

• Prepares drawings, designs, calculations, analyses etc. in accordance with established codes, standards, drawings, or other client specifications
• Attending site visits for assessment of the existing mechanical systems and equipment and assist in preparation of the condition assessment reports
• Provides assistance with the creation and submission of mechanical drawings, technical reports, memos, specifications and calculations
• Will also assist in preparing final construction documents and reports
• Design and drafting for the preparation of Mechanical drawings under direction from Project Engineer or Project Manager on various projects
• Review drawings, calculations, specifications and other engineering documentation for compliance with contract requirements, good engineering practices, codes, and standards
  

What You Need To Be Successful In This Role

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or Applied Science or its equivalent
• 0-4 years of Experience
• Registered EIT with PEO.
• Excellent verbal and communications skills are required
• Excellent technical writing skill is required
• Experience in AutoCAD and Revit is an asset
• An attitude and commitment to quality, teaming, innovative problem solving, communication, relationship management, and the culture that is integral to our employee ownership model
• Ability to work with administrative supervision and effectively manage multiple and conflicting priorities
