Matchmove - Intern - Start In February 2022

POSITION PURPOSE

Intern Matchmove artists will troubleshoot problems as necessary; however, will bring questions forward to Leads and Supervisors as soon as possible to ensure effective use of time and resources. They will understand all aspects of the Matchmove role. They will have an understanding of geometry and be able to apply them in the appropriate environment to achieve desired results.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Entry level camera tracking
• Entry level object tracking
• Additional tasks as needed and required to complete the above duties
• Apply client notes to all plates Utilize background plates to obtain camera and object motion in plate photography.
• Understands the process of setting up a new shot
  Understands the process of 2D tracking and solving the camera and publishing the camera into the pipeline
• Understands the pipeline and how MM fits into I’E.’s workflow
• Working knowledge of Linux, Maya and 3dEqualizer and a basic knowledge of nuke
• Working knowledge of Custom scripts and tools
• Does basic composites of the files with the background to judge the camera and object solves
• Maintain continuity between shots

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• General knowledge of the VFX pipeline
• Basic familiarity with any 3D software
• Knowledge of filming techniques and lenses

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Technical skills

• Basic knowledge of Maya is preferred
• Ability to build geometry
• Theoretical understanding of tracking

Core skills

• Ability to troubleshoot and deal with competing priorities
• Ability to work on a project specific basis based on project workflow
• Excellent time management and communication skills
• Eye for detail
