The Global Marketing & Communications Teams at KPMG International work together with colleagues from around the world to help the network deliver on purpose, embrace firm values and help earn trust in the market. We are a united, multidisciplinary network focused on contributing to a single strategy. Working as part of the broader team, this role will focus primarily on the area of Global Tax & Legal, while also taking on other cross-functional projects.

Role Summary

KPMG’s Global Tax & Legal network is committed to supporting clients during this time of uncertainty by demonstrating an understanding of their needs and offering innovative and technology-enabled services to help them navigate the future with confidence, evolving their operations and embracing the role of the tax function in their organization’s broader ESG agenda. This role will help the business deliver marketing solutions to bring key insights and capabilities to global heads of tax in market. Success in this position will require excellent stakeholder management and teamwork, attentive project management skills, creative thinking and problem solving, expertise in digital best practices, and the ability to liaise effectively with a range of senior stakeholders. Attention to detail, critical thinking, the ability to build trust, rapport and consensus and a strong focus on marketing outcomes are all important skills for this role.

Based in Toronto, the role of the Global Tax & Legal Marketing Manager will include:
  • Learning and understanding tax, legal and mobility business issues and translating these to compelling marketing projects and campaigns that engage target audiences, embody the brand, advance KPMG’s purpose and, where possible, integrate with other areas of the business.
  • Project managing the delivery of Marketing initiatives that can be leveraged across KPMG member firms globally.
  • Supporting the Senior Marketing Manager in developing project assets as required, including developing project plans, reporting on status, working through various creation processes, vendor SOWs, monthly and quarterly reporting, and roadmaps for key projects.
  • Working with other internal stakeholders, including Global Tax leadership, Global Tax Marketing & Communications, Global Tax Collaboration & Knowledge to execute on project plans, building excellent and collaborative working relationships.
  • Ensuring adherence to appropriate standards and policies and contributing to the development of new standards of documentation as well as projects and products with our Global Digital Marketing approach
  • Engaging as a positive and active team member and collaborating on projects.
  • Working with stakeholders across jurisdictions and a range of digital projects
What you will do:
Key Accountabilities

Marketing project management
  • Project management and development of content across campaigns
  • Create high-quality marketing and communications campaigns, services and materials for the tax, legal and mobility practice, including liaising with business and briefing program delivery or external vendors on outputs.
  • Day-to-day liaison with the team in Tax & Legal marketing and communications, the program delivery teams within the GRC and the practice managers in various parts of the world for assigned areas of focus.
Creative and critical thinking and quality control
  • Brings forward creative ideas for leveraging channels and best practices in ways that support the overall goals for Global Tax & Legal Marketing & Communications initiatives, providing regular status updates to team leadership, program manager, and other stakeholders as required
  • Creates templates and best practices for key deliverables and ensures quality of marketing campaigns
  • Reports on results and marketing outcomes
Stakeholder management and collaboration
  • Works with primary stakeholders such as Global Tax Marketing & Communications team, Global Tax Service Lines and Global Digital Marketing team to help drive best practices in projects and to support connectivity, collaboration and collective impact across channels and projects
  • Brings forward creative ideas for leveraging channels and best practices in ways that support the overall goals for Global Tax & Legal Marketing & Communications initiatives, providing regular status updates to team leadership, program manager, and other stakeholders as required
  • Supports successful launches and helps support member firm adoption, as appropriate and defines and monitors success of marketing initiatives against KPIs
What you bring to this role:
Technical Skills
  • Demonstrable project management expertise with experience of having delivered projects through a full project lifecycle.
  • Ability to analyze marketing results data and make recommendations to optimize performance on future projects
  • Strong experience with managing stakeholders
Description of level of Qualifications
  • University undergraduate degree or college diploma
  • Project Management certificate would be a plus
Experience & Knowledge
  • Minimum of five years of experience in marketing, communications, or business
  • Experience working in a global context is an advantage
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to get buy-in and support for projects from diverse and often widespread stakeholders
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with a relentless attention to detail
  • A proactive, highly service oriented and client-centric attitude.
  • Experience interacting with senior management and exercising diplomacy
  • Strong interpersonal skills; able to build rapport and trust quickly at all levels in an organization
  • A ‘can do’ attitude and an exceptional degree of personal initiative with an ability to manage multiple priorities in tight timelines
  • Able to work flexible hours typical of a global role; connecting with colleagues in different time zones
