The Manager, Finance and Business Operations is responsible for administrative operations and long-range planning for Business Services as it pertains to budget development, planning and controls, resource allocation and facilities planning. The incumbent constructs and manages the department financial resources and information (e.g., budgets, inter-departmental adjustments) and manages project proposals, and requirements for facilities and capital equipment. The incumbent manages operations, communications, policy compliance for Business Services, and the processes and documentation for audited projects. The incumbent participates in long-range planning goals and manages the resources and procurement of equipment for Business Service spaces.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Developing and monitoring capital and operating budgets for Business Services, in collaboration with the AVP and other Managers within Business Services;
  • Providing financial analyses to the AVP and Business Service Managers and provides recommendations on financial matters;
  • Monitoring and optimizing financial performance including forecasts, variance analysis and problem identification;
  • Ensuring efficient and effective use of fiscal and physical resources through coordination and consolidation of budget requests;
  • Preparing complex reports, spreadsheets, databases, and informational documents to assist in program planning and HR planning;
  • Ensuring that projects are carried out consistently with Sheridan policies and procedures. Includes recruiting, records procedures, and other employment-related activities;
  • Representing Business Services and contributes College-wide committees;
  • Performing other related duties as assigned.

You bring proven analytical and creative problem solving skills that allow you to link financial results to operational performance drivers.

You have a demonstrated ability provide fiscally sound guidance and advice to all levels of leadership.

You have an innate ability to assemble, analyze and clearly present complex data and recommendations into concise, formal reports and presentations.

Your excellent planning, organizational and time management skills allows you the ability to manage large scale projects.

The Successful Candidate Will Also Meet The Following Qualifications
  • 4 year bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field of study.
  • Accounting designation - CPA, CA/CMA/CGA required.
  • 5 years of financial management, reporting and budgeting experience, preferably in a post-secondary environment (equivalency to be considered).
  • Progressive accounting and financial leadership experience including financial accounting, budget and management/cost accounting.
  • Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Financial modeling experience for project ROI’s and feasibility.
  • Demonstrated skill in quantitative financial analysis and use of financial software data tools to maintain financial models, forecasts, and automated financial reports.

Campus Location: Trafalgar (may be assigned activities at any Sheridan campus) once normal campus operations resume. This position is currently working remotely.

Payband: NM

Hiring Range: $97,582 - $103,681
