Summary

Maintenance Technician is responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing, calibrating and maintaining equipment in accordance with safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems.

Job Duties

  • Perform highly diversified duties to install, calibrate and maintain production machines and facility’s equipment.
  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment and perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities.
  • Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
  • Comply and enforce Occupational Health and Safety standards and practices.
  • Lock and unlock doors, turn lights on/off if you are the last person in the building.
  • Contact and oversee all contracted maintenance work, for major repairs.
  • Perform minor repairs on windows, doors, switches, desks, tables, plugs, equipment, appliances, sinks, toilets, blinds etc.
  • Responsible for vandalism clean up and repair, within skill level.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
  • Set priorities for preventative maintenance work orders, maintenance requisitions and scheduled work.
  • Prepare, paint and decorate interior and exterior surfaces, as required.
  • Drive vehicles, as required.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned or needed.

Requirements

  • Mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting experience (3 years +)
  • Calibration experience (3 years +)
  • Professional license
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing Maintenance Programs
  • Forklift Operator Licence and Scissor Lift Training Certificate considered an asset
  • Ability to create alternative solutions to problems
  • Strong attention to detail
