Licensed Practical Nurse

Job Description: Reporting to the Care manager

Needs to be flexible In collaboration with the multidisciplinary team, performs assessments, plans, and implements and provides personal and nursing care to residents. Administers oral and subcutaneous medications in accordance with pharmaceutical and organizational policies and procedures. The LPN operates in accordance with the competency guidelines and full scope of practice within the Standards of Practice as outlined by the college of Licenses Practical Nurses of British Columbia, and according to organizational policies, procedures, standards specific to the care Home Responsibilities include the direct supervision of care staff to meet resident’s needs. On call & after hours staffing is an expectation

Job Requirements: Education, Training and Experience:

- Graduation from a recognized program for Practical Nurses or equivalent RN training aboard - One year recent related geriatric experience in long term care or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. - Current full practicing licensure with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of British Columbia (CLPNBC). - Previous scheduling experience - Experience with computer charting and EMAR - Experience coaching and disciplining - Experience managing staffing hours - Staffing after hours

Skills and Abilities:

- Ability to supervise - Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. - Ability to deal with others effectively. - Ability to organize work. - Ability to operate related equipment. - Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
