Note:All newly hired employees, effective immediately, are expected to complete the Library Training Certificate within five (5) years of date of hire. Each Library Training Certificate course will be reimbursed by fifty percent (50%) upon evidence of completion.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

• High school diploma
• Library training program certificate or experience equivalent considered an asset
• Ability to assist students with a variety of computer applications
• Interest in and knowledge of children’s and young adult literature
• Ability to oversee library computer system and electronic resources
• Satisfactory Criminal Record and Child Abuse Registry Check
• Ability to relate to the school community and community value base

Garden Valley Collegiate, a Grades 9-12 high school, is located on Main Street in the City of Winkler. It has a student population of approximately 775, a teaching staff of 50 and a support staff of 30. Salary and Benefits:

The compensation package for this position is in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Garden Valley School Division and the Christian Labour Association of Canada / Construction Workers’ Union (CLAC) Local 152 for Library Technicians. Salary range effective July 1, 2020: $16.20 - $23.42 per hour – depending on qualifications and experience.
