Job Description


The Learning & Talent Specialist Support the Talent Acquisition Team and the Talent Development Team in attracting, winning, and growing great talent through project management, documentation, communication and other tasks that support the successful execution and implementation of programs.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Talent Acquisition:

  • Sourcing talented candidates through a variety of means including events, advertising, and databases.
  • Maintaining relationships with universities, student organizations, and recruitment networks.
  • Screening resumes and scheduling interviews.
  • Developing internship programs and evaluating the performance of new employees.
  • Managing all administrative tasks such as updating recruitment databases, hiring profiles, and applicant documentation.

Talent Development:

  • Respond to information requests from employees and requests for changes by employees registered for activities and carry out follow ups;
  • Oversee learning events (from registration to participation rate and course/event feedback)
  • LMS administration;
  • Provide the logistical support required for learning events (book rooms, equipment, material);
  • Administer educational/training needs assessments
  • Oversee online learning platform subscriptions and administration;
  • Support with diversity, inclusion & belonging learning initiatives;
  • Supports with the creation and development of training materials presentations, prework, instructions, multimedia aids, tutorials etc.
  • Evaluates effectiveness of training and development programs and utilizes relevant evaluation data to revise or recommend changes in instructional objectives and methods.
  • Assists in analyzing and assessing training and development needs for individuals, teams, and/or service lines.
  • Organize and manage the overall project deliverables and timelines for all talent initiatives.
  • Support the talent acquisition team with various tasks during peak hiring periods.
  • Researching hiring trends and compiling recruitment reports and presentations.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in HR or recruitment
  • College diploma or bachelor’s degree in human resources management, education, adult education, or equivalent training.
  • Relevant experience in human resources with a focus on talent development learning and development or project management with a curiosity and passion for learning is helpful.
  • Experience planning and implementing projects and events end to end.
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Sound understanding of the recruitment process
  • Good understanding of Applicant Tracking Systems and University databases
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Comfortable communicating in group settings and with various levels of seniority.
  • Ability to develop and maintain a network of collaborators
  • Results oriented
  • Sound knowledge of recruitment practices and keeping up to date with trends.
  • Solid experience with Microsoft Office applications (especially PowerPoint and excel) and conference platforms such as Teams and Zoom
  • Knowledge of project management and/or event management
  • Bilingual English /French ideal
