About Us:

Machine Optimization Engineering (MOE) is an industrial automation systems integrator. We work with manufacturing facilities in industrial sectors to automate, optimize, and digitize their systems. MOE primarily targets but is not limited to the forestry and mining industries. MOE is a licensed engineering firm operating from Northern Ontario.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support the implementation of automated industrial systems. From the estimation and design to commissioning
  • Perform field work
  • Troubleshoot, update and upgrade existing client equipment
  • Produce, modify, and review electrical and instrumentation drawings
  • Prepare technical/field reports, cost estimates and project schedules
  • Manage small scale projects:
  • Coordinating efforts between internal and external resources
  • Tracking project budgets and milestones
  • Requirements:

    • Recently graduated from a Canadian University or College in a relevant field of study to Industrial Automation.
    • Eligible for professional registration with Professional Engineers Ontario or Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians.
    • Must have:
  • Programming experience in PLC and HMI/SCADA systems.
  • Industrial experience in automation or power systems
    • Must be:
  • A good communicator both verbal and written
  • Safety oriented
  • A self starter and a fast learner
  • Bilingual English and French preferred but optional
    • Be willing to travel for work
  • Estimated 15% - 50% depending on the project workload
  • Travel sometimes spans a couple of weeks
  • Travel is within Canada and the US
  • Travel expenses are paid including a meal per-diem

    The candidate is required to:

    • Are new entrants into the work force, are transitioning to a new career, or the unemployed or underemployed who are entering a new field;
    • Have not previously participated in a NOHFC-funded internship;
    • Are at least 18 years of age; and
    • Reside, and be legally entitled to work, in Canada.
