Requirements

Role & Responsibilities

Production Accounts Payable:
Review/audit of production invoices and journal entries entered by Accounts Payable Clerk, including matching invoices to purchase orders, agreeing coding to cost reports, and ensuring all appropriate approvals are obtained.
Complete and submit credit applications to new vendors.
Manage weekly production cash position.

Production Payroll:
Process bi-weekly production CAD and US payroll runs.
Review weekly invoices submitted by contractors and confirm rates/terms to contractor agreements.
Develop a working knowledge of union agreements in Vancouver and LA.
Maintain payroll documentation consistent with regional audit needs.
Work with US payroll company to verify and submit timesheets.
Seek approval for timesheets, audit reports, and payroll invoices.
Ensure cast/crew payments are made per union deadlines.

Cost Reports & Trial Balances:
Prepare monthly cost reports for all productions.
Work with Line Producers to discuss costs incurred to date, adjust any estimated costs to complete, track costs are in line with production budgets, and make any adjustments, as necessary.
Estimate/calculate CAD tax credits based on costs incurred to date.
Assist in working with CRA auditors for potential production audits.
Assist in preparing year-end working papers for annual audit.

Other:
Assist with other related production tasks at the discretion of the Controller-Animation.
Perform any other roles and responsibilities that are typically required by a Production Accountant.
Perform other tasks and responsibilities as may be assigned in the future.

Qualifications

Associates degree in accounting OR equivalent work experience
Minimum 2+ year of fully cycle accounting
Experience having applied for CAVCO and Creative BC Tax Credits is an asset
Ability to work with diverse types of personalities and work styles
Proficient written and verbal communication skills
Ability to meet deadlines
Very detail oriented, has a strong work-ethic and positive attitude.
