About the Role:

Reporting

The Junior Accountant reports directly to the Senior Accountant.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Prepares a monthly balance sheet reconciliation binder, ensuring reconciliations are prepared in compliance with head office standards, GAAP.
  • Completes bank reconciliations for multiple entities.
  • Enter in AP transactions ensuring accurate allocations.
  • Prepare & enter monthly customer billings.
  • Prepares & enters journal entries that are GAAP compliant, ensuring documentation to support those entries is included.
  • Prepares various accrual tasks to record monthly entries and reversing entries and can present information which explains the entries.
  • Assist in audit processes by pulling backups for auditor requested items.
  • Documenting processes by training purposes.
  • Building ad-hoc and regularly scheduled reports.
  • Support the senior finance team building reports that will be used by management as directed.
  • Participates in accounting related projects.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • At minimum, an accounting diploma.
  • Interest in pursuing CPA designation is preferred.
  • Excellent attention to detail and documentary skills
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask in an every-changing environment.
  • Work well in a team environment and within a team.
  • Ability to work with industry software (Navision) and previous Accounting or ERP software. Strong excel skills required.
  • Shows integrity, ingenuity, and assertiveness in the performance of tasks.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially in Excel (Pivot Tables, V-lookups).
  • Aviation industry knowledge is an asset.

Experience

  • Minimum 1 years of accounting experience
  • Experience with large ERP platform preferred.
