RAC is seeking Journeyman Steamfitter / Pipefitter trades for short term work in the Fort McMurray region. Camp accommodations, meals and transportation to site will be provided.
- Salary: As per Collective Agreement
- Length of Employment – based upon client’s needs.
- Type of Work – Oil and Gas refinery / Maintenance work
- Hours of Work: 10 hour shifts (Overtime as per Union Agreement)
- Various shifts ( 4 on 3 off, 10 on 4 off and 11 on 3 off )
- Camp available ( will need to check out on days off )
- Must be compliant for Drug and Alcohol screening
- Online company and Client mandated training
- Must have valid Photo identification to gain access on site
- Current IRATA certification (min Level One)
- Alberta Journeyman Certificate or Interprovincial Red Seal Interprovincial Red Seal
- Minimum 1 year experience on an industrial or construction site (Preferred) Preference will be given to applicants that live in the Fort McMurray region.
- Half Mask/Full face Fit Test (3M)
- CSTS
- OSSA Regional/BSO/CSO
- OSSA Fall Protection
- OSSA Confined Space Training
- Maintain and repair piping systems which carry water, steam, chemicals or fuel used in heating, cooling, lubricating and other processes.
- Maintain and repair pressurized piping systems.
- Hydro test and install fabricated pipe spools within structural steel modular assemblies, adding designed supports as required.
- Maintain all tools, work area and equipment in a clean and orderly fashion.
- Read and interpret client and company supplied construction fabrication drawings and specifications (English).
- Ensure work areas are kept clean and free of hazards.
- Ensure tools and equipment are returned to job boxes and tool cribs.
- Report all incidents, “near miss” incidents including damages/non-damage, injury/non-injury incidents.
- Review and participate in the preparation of safe work practices/procedures as required.
- Physically capable of performing all tasks required of a Steamfitter/Pipefitter.
Physical Requirements
- Stand or walk for long periods of time
- Ability to stand, crouch and kneel for long periods of time
- Ability to lift up to 25kg
- Climbing stairs/ladders regularly
- Exposure to hazards such as heights, power tools, slips, falls, falling objects and sharp hand tools
