About Us

In this role, the IT Business Partnerwillbuild strong working relationships with key stakeholders in the Canada business and, based on a deep understanding of business strategy, strategic imperatives, operating models and processes, provide IT leadership and expertise to enable the business strategy. This position has a flexible work location and can be based from Guelph, ON, Calgary AB or remotely across Canada.

Accountabilities
  • Serve as IT Lead for the entire Canadian organization and all business functions.
  • Work collaboratively with North American IT Delivery teams to align Canadian requirements with IT resources. Where local needs require, act as a Business Analyst to manage and implement Canadian initiatives and changes.
  • Collaborate with business colleagues to create, update and maintain 5-year strategic IT roadmap that is aligned with the business strategic agenda covering investment, training, and exploitation of IT systems broken into logical organization groups and processes
  • Collaborate closely with IT Architecture to ensure the Syngenta IT landscape is aligned to changing business needs and challenges
  • Propose, agree, prioritize and steer the delivery of a portfolio of IT investments aimed at improving the performance of Canada so that it achieves its long-term objectives
  • Ensure that business sponsorship, support, funding and resources for IT projects are sufficient to deliver the identified benefits
  • Serve as a key contact for Canada Territory Leadership Team (TLT) for information technology needs and business critical escalations.
  • Lead stakeholder management and business communications regarding IT and business process capabilities and changes
  • Act as ‘hands and eyes’ IT Infrastructure support when needed by remote teams or suppliers
  • Actively promote and facilitate global business process and information harmonization within Canada
  • Manage Canadian IT budget and ensure country IT compliance
  • Ensure Canada’s strategic and operational objectives are realized by aligning business strategy and the global IT policy and methodology
Qualifications

Requirements
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in business or technology combined with relevant IT professional qualifications.
  • Minimum of 6 years of IT leadership and delivery experience
  • Has previous experience working in a sales and distribution environment and has an understanding of key commercial business processes and data
  • Knowledge of program/project management and IT service delivery principles and best practices. Working knowledge of Agile and DevOps methodology an asset.
  • Understanding of global and regional IT strategy, operating model, polices, standards and governance processes
  • Strong stakeholder management and the ability to work with middle and senior management under pressure
