This role sits within Laurentian Bank Securities, a subsidiary of Laurentian Bank Financial Group.

JOB TITLE: Associate, Structured Products, Laurentian Bank Securities (Toronto, May - August 2022).

The Structured Products group at LBS is engaged in trading, structuring and sales activities, mostly in the equity-linked space. Our business provides equity-linked guaranteed investment certificates (ELGICs) to be sold in our bank branches. The trading desk provides the pricing, hedging and risk management of these products.

The Associate, Structured Products will help the trading desk with its pricing, hedging and risk management tasks. You will contribute to the productivity of the team but helping us optimize all aspects of the value chain, increasing automation along the way. You will also help us explore related business opportunities.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

ºContribute to the efficient functioning of the ELGIC trading and structuring desk.

ºHelp build productivity tools for pricing and hedging of ELGIC products.

ºBe a part of automating the workflow of the trading and structuring desk.

ºInvestigate adjacent products / trading strategies such as Delta-1, Listed Options and Structured Notes.

ºParticipate in other specific or ad hoc projects when required.

Qualifications

Key Qualifications and Skills:

ºMasters/MBA student, ideally with a STEM or Commerce undergraduate degree.

ºProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel/VBA and PowerPoint)

ºAnalytical skills and intellectual curiosity.

ºPositive attitude, people skills and ability to work as part of a team

ºThoroughness and attention to detail.

ºExperience in the banking and/or financial sector would be highly desirable.

ºBilingual (French and English) would be an asset.
