Intermediate Designer

Come join our Vancouver studio, one of BC’s Top Employers and Canada’s Top Employer for Young People! We are seeking Intermediate Designers to join our team. Previous experience in multi-building, mixed-use, cultural and CCC projects essential. We are looking for outstanding design talent, coupled with strong technical ability to make our world class sustainable designs come to life!

As an Intermediate Architect or Designer, you will:

• Develop creative and innovative design ideas, concepts, and solutions while participating as an integral member of the
  design team.
• Demonstrate advanced knowledge of project complexity to proactively contribute to the overall success of the
  team by adhering to firm and project goals and standards of excellence in design, execution, and living design.
• Complete drawings for schematic design, design development, and construction documents.
• Analyze product research and identifies material selections.
• Take an active role in crafting client and non-client design presentations and prepares corresponding materials.
• Implement a creative approach to complete tasks and responsibilities on projects, within the scope of schedule and
  budget, in an organized, timely, and consistent way.
• Review work for accuracy, omissions, legibility, and for document compliance in accordance with the Project
  Delivery Manual.
• Support growth of others.
• Expresses curiosity about the world of design and the industry at large.
• Take increasing ownership on tasks within project teams and
  studio activities.
• Participate in design reviews, charettes and pin-ups.
• Keep open communication within team and with designated team leader.
• Communicate ideas and thoughts in a way that inspires others.
• Support growth of others.
• Coordinate effectively with partners and consultants.

To join us, you should have:

• A positive attitude and commitment to being an active and positive participant of our culture.
• A professional degree in Architecture
• 5+ years’ experience
• Intermediate to advanced skills in modeling and documentation using Revit.
• Proficiency in hand-drawn design and illustration.
• Familiarity with Building codes and life safety requirements
• Strong design aptitude and conceptual design thinking skills
• Skilled in graphic storytelling; comfortable with sketching as a form of communication
• Experience in Project Delivery and contract documents
• Familiarity with specifications review
• LEED AP or agrees to qualify within 6 months of hire.
